A relaxed jumper with wide bell sleeves, worked in a repeating mix of drop stitch, garter and double moss stitch. Knitted on 6 mm needles in Scandi Cotton XL. Six sizes fitting bust 96–148 cm. Instant PDF download.
The interest here is in the surface. An eighteen-row sequence runs through the whole garment — two rows of long drop stitches that open the fabric up, four rows of plain knitting, more stocking stitch, then a band of double moss — so the texture keeps changing without you ever having to follow a chart. The sleeves widen towards the wrist into a soft bell, and because Scandi Cotton XL is a chunky cotton the whole thing stays light enough for spring and summer rather than reading as a winter jumper.
Good to know
- Construction – front, back and sleeves are knitted flat and sewn together. The 18-row pattern sequence is written out row by row, and both double moss stitch and moss stitch are explained in the PDF.
- You will also need – 6 mm needles. The pattern is written for Scandi Cotton XL (200 g): 4–6 balls depending on size. Using another yarn? Any chunky cotton that knits to 16 sts × 20 rows over 10 cm in stocking stitch.
- In the download – a 6-page PDF with the full pattern, stitch guides and tension tips. English only.
Happy Knitting!
