About this pattern
This is a good pattern for a first knitting project. You knit every row, so there is no stitch pattern to follow and nothing to count – you simply cast on and keep going until the piece reaches the right length. Holding the two yarns together gives you the soft, fluffy surface of the faux fur with the body and warmth of Scandi Soft, and garter stitch keeps the fabric thick and squishy.
The finishing is what makes it sit well. Instead of joining the whole seam, you leave a small opening, so the neck warmer rests on your shoulders and gathers softly around the neck. On 7 mm needles it knits up quickly.
Good to know:
Construction - knitted flat in one piece, then joined with mattress stitch, leaving an 8 cm opening.
You will also need - a yarn needle for the seam.
Substituting yarn - any combination that knits to 13 sts x 17 rows over 10 cm in garter stitch on 7 mm needles.
Happy Knitting!
