A long lace tunic worked in five different lace patterns, with wide sleeves and a straight body that skims rather than clings. Knitted on 5 mm needles in Scandi Cotton. Three sizes fitting bust 104–124 cm. Instant PDF download.
This is the pattern to take on when you want your knitting to hold your attention. The front is built from five separate lace panels stacked up the body, each one a different repeat, and the sleeves carry a fifth pattern of their own — so you finish the tunic with five new lace patterns in your hands, any of which makes a beautiful scarf on its own. The back is kept plain in double moss stitch so the front does the talking, and the length falls to mid-thigh over a swimsuit or jeans.
Good to know
- Construction – front, back and sleeves are knitted flat and sewn together. Four rows of garter stitch at every cast-on edge; the back is double moss stitch, the front is five lace patterns worked in sequence.
- You will also need – 5 mm needles. The pattern is written for Scandi Cotton (100 g): 9–10 balls depending on size. Using another yarn? Any 8 ply cotton that knits to 18 sts × 20 rows over 10 cm.
- In the download – a 10-page PDF with charts and written instructions for all five lace patterns, plus tension tips. English only.
Happy Knitting!
