An easy crochet tunic with a deep knitted turtle neck collar, worked on an 8 mm hook in Frost. Six sizes fitting bust 90–130 cm. Instant PDF download.
This one is a mix of the two crafts, and it is the collar that makes it. The body is straightforward double crochet on a big hook, so it grows fast and drapes rather than stands, and then the neck edge is picked up on 7 mm knitting needles and worked in double moss stitch into a soft collar you can wear up or folded down. Frost is a fine metallic-look yarn, so the finished tunic catches the light without being showy — it reads as a going-out piece rather than a jumper.
Good to know
- Construction – front and back are crocheted in rows and seamed at one shoulder; the collar is then knitted onto the neck edge in double moss stitch before the second shoulder is closed. Side seams are left open at the underarm for the wider shoulder.
- You will also need – an 8 mm crochet hook and 7 mm knitting needles for the collar. The pattern is written for Anette Eriksson Frost: 300–600 g depending on size. Using another yarn? Anything that works to 12 dc over 10 cm.
- In the download – an 8-page PDF with the crochet instructions, the knitted collar, the Frost colour card and tension tips. English only.
Happy Crochet!
