About this pattern
This is a great top for beginners and a quick knit. It is a sleeveless roll neck, so it works well under jackets without bulky sleeves, and it is easy to knit and comfortable to wear. The whole top is worked in double moss stitch, and the front is knitted exactly like the back, so there is very little to keep track of. The collar is worked straight on from the shoulders and sewn together at the sides.
With needles this big, a small difference in tension makes a big difference to the size and to how much yarn you need. Please make a tension square first, as the guide in the PDF explains. The armholes are finished with two rows of single crochet.
Good to know:
Construction - front and back are worked the same way and sewn together. The collar is worked on 8 mm needles and sewn at the sides
You will also need - 10 mm and 8 mm needles, and an 8 mm crochet hook for the armhole edging
Substituting yarn - any yarn that knits to 10 sts x 13 rows over 10 cm in double moss stitch
Happy Knitting!
