Elisabeth is a straightforward shape carrying one good detail. Front and back are knitted exactly the same, so once you have done one you know the other by heart, and the cable panel sits in the middle with plain stocking stitch either side — easy to follow from the chart, and easy to leave out altogether if you would rather have a plain jumper. The sleeves break up the surface with five rows of stocking stitch, five of garter, repeated all the way up. In Scandi Soft XL it knits up fast and keeps its shape through the shoulders.

Good to know

• Construction – front, back and sleeves are knitted flat and sewn together, with 2×2 rib at the hem and cuffs. The shoulders are seamed from each side leaving 26–31 cm open in the middle for the neck, so there is no collar to pick up.
• You will also need – 6 mm needles and a cable needle. The pattern is written for Scandi Soft XL (100 g): 4–6 balls depending on size. Using another yarn? Any chunky yarn that knits to 16 sts × 20 rows over 10 cm in stocking stitch.
